ART SUMMARY April 2016

EDIT: Only today, 2nd of june did I realise that I never published my april summary. Sorry for the delay! May summary is coming right up :)

April was a quite excting month where I started two wall-paintings - the largest one I only just finished, and since it's may, I'll save that for next months summary. The artworks have been far between but larger (and better!) so Instagram and deviantArt haven't seen too much activity this month. We are starting to make print material at work, all kinds: Posters, business cards, post cards, plaques, brochures, etc.

Instagram: Easter laziness

I just didn't do a lot of sketching or traditional work this month, which is what I usually upload on instagram. Just some teeth-doodles and a drawing of me and Pan in Rick and Morty-style. I drew that one after findind the show on netflix, so I rewatched both seasons. This month I also applied to a 2D-key animator for Rick and Morty, in Canada! How awesome would it be if they decided to import some Norwegian animation-noob to work on that show. In Canada. *sighs dreamily* Worth a try!
Also made a new avatar featuring dramatic Pan. This one was a fun excersise in timing and After Effects. I learned how to make motion blur and shaky-cam!
There was also a super rough skippy cat doodle-animation, but I lost the original file and I can't figure out how to download .mov-files from instagram. But you can see it here. It's a quick study in cats skipping, for a commission I should have done ages ago.

Panimated (Commissions)

Here we have the two big wall-artworks, one of them which I only just finished (in May). So I'm saving that! The other one which I did finish was for a new local café called Aloha, who are aiming for an international Hawaii/beach-bar theme. The piece is a central piece covering the whole wall behind the counter. I quite like how it turned out, very nice and clean! It took four days to finish (ca. 5 hours per day).

Project Assistant work

We started planning for an exhibition at the museum here, this one is also Hawaii-themed, as it happens! The work is not much to look at now as it's still very much in the layout/design phase. We are just trying to figure what it will contain, colour themes and the information it should include. Below you can see the layout of the room with rough placement of all the elements, etc, colour theme and such. Then on of the 17 texts we'll be putting up (pretty much final design) and twi pictures where I've just put a bunch of stuff up on the wal to get a sense of the size and layout (it won't look like that in the end, just brainstorming at this point).
